Pigs physically cannot raise their heads enough to look up at the sky. Crazy, right? They can, however, roll over and look “down” at the sky, so they’re not completely oblivious to things above their heads.

The giant squid has the largest eyes in the world. They average around 10.5 inches wide – bigger than a soccer ball. They need eyes this big to see light down in the Twilight Zone of the ocean, between 1,000 and 2,000 feet down.

Rubber bands actually last longer when refrigerated – this is because as the molecules in the material cool down, they get more relaxed and don’t have as much tension on them.

Everyone has a unique tongue print, just like fingerprints! The tongue’s shape and surface texture is distinct to each person.

In 2015, archaeologists found 3,000 year old honey that was still edible! Because honey is low in water and high in sugar, bacteria cannot grow on it. In fact, since it’s antimicrobial, hospitals sometimes use medical-grade honey to treat strains of drug-resistant bacteria.
